Do we need the past to heal?

Many people say that in order to heal past trauma, you need to revisit the specific event and relive it in order to fix it. But what if the real issue isn’t the event itself, but the emotion that remained because of it?

Imagine that, somehow, you could send the person who hurt you to Mars. Would you instantly feel better? Probably not. Why? Because the emotion would still be within you.

Healing begins when we take responsibility for what we are carrying. The pain, fear, anger, guilt, or sadness will remain until we choose to acknowledge it, understand it, and gradually let it go. I know that’s much easier said than done. But when we realize that we are the ones continuing to hold on to those emotions—even unconsciously—it becomes easier to begin releasing them.

Often, the emotion we see on the surface is only one layer. Beneath it may be something even deeper that is asking to be seen.

For me, that emotion was fear. It stayed with me much longer than it needed to. I’ve been working through it layer by layer, like peeling an onion. Each time I believed I had released it completely, another layer surfaced, giving me another opportunity to heal and grow.

That is where I am today.

I feel lighter, freer, and more in love with life than ever before. Looking back, I am deeply grateful for every challenge I have faced because each one has helped me become more of who I truly am.

The work within is an ongoing journey. There is always another opportunity to become more aware, more authentic, and more aligned with our true nature. What I treasure most is the constant communication I have with my Higher Self—the Creator within me and all around me.

I believe we are all expressions of a greater consciousness. That greater intelligence is always guiding us, always supporting us, and always knows exactly what we need. And perhaps the most beautiful realization is this:

It is not separate from us. It is who we truly are.
